The Great Realization

Updated: Jan 17, 2021

The Great Realization is almost a fairy tale of sorts. It provides the opportunity to talk about current events with children, and provides an optimistic and hope-filled view of the future. Written by Tomos Roberts and beautifully illustrated by award-winning artist Nomoco, The Great Realization reminds the reader to be hopeful.

Tomos wrote this poem, which was later published in a book form, for his younger brother and sister in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The message of hope and resilience is a reminder of all that we have to be thankful for and celebrates the many things that brought us together during this difficult time.

“We call it The Great Realization

and, yes, since then there have been many.

But that’s the story of how it started . . . and why hindsight’s 20/20.”
