This recently released Christmas book “5 More Sleeps ‘til Christmas” written by the host of the Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon and illustrated by Rich Deas is a delightful picture book from the view of a child as they countdown to Christmas Day. Their anticipation grows and grows and grows the closer that Christmas Day gets. Finally, Christmas Day arrives. Whew!

“Just 5 more sleeps 'til Christmas! Can you believe it's here? I know that Santa's coming soon 'cause I've been good all year.’“
I’m generally not a huge fan of story books that celebrities write. However, this book, and his earlier book, ‘Snowball fight” are an exception. With Fallon’s short rhyming text, this book can be enjoyed by children of all ages (even us adults!) He uses whimsical repetition in this fun-filled and lively Christmas read.
The illustrator, Rich Deas, captures the amazing facial expressions in the children; the joy, exhaustion, sheer delight and anticipation of Santa’s arrival.
The ending is “so me,” and I laughed and laughed. You’ll have to read “5 More Sleeps ‘til Christmas” to find out what happens. Great, great ending.
